Spending New Year's Eve in the centre of Prague is sure to be one of the most unforgettable experiences. You can spend it outdoors on the Old Town Square or in a theatre or music club. Where you go is up to you, but fun is always guaranteed in the heart of Europe.
It is important to remember the regulations that apply to this evening.
The use of pyrotechnics, such as firecrackers and fireworks, is banned in the centre of Prague, according to a decree issued by the city council. Lucky lanterns, which often become an uncontrolled hazard, are also banned.
Violation of the ordinance is punishable by an administrative fine of up to CZK 100,000 for a natural person, legal entity or business. On-the-spot fines of up to CZK 10,000 can be imposed by police officers and constables.
It is always important to remember that we are not alone in the city, whether we are dealing with pets or, for example, people who are ill or have mental health problems.
Thank you for respecting that.
From the bottom of our hearts, we wish you a peaceful entry into the New Year 2025.
