Bohemia Balón is a family company, active in the Czech Republic since 2005. Flying hot air balloons is a family hobby, so you can expect an attentive and personal approach.
The balloons fly over interesting locations, all of which offer a beautiful spectacle during your flight and leave a lasting impression. The most common and most popular starting points include Konopiště and Karlštejn Castles, Bohemian Paradise and České Středohoří. Each flight is original and what you will see in the end depends mainly on the strength and direction of the wind.
Baskets are only for four or five passengers, which ensures a view of all sides, and the personal attention of the pilot for the entire duration of the flight.
The balloon flight takes place at an altitude of up to 500 meters, depending on the conditions of the location, but it is usually up to you which altitude you prefer. Under ideal conditions, we can fly higher.
We will call you several hours before the flight, and confirm the time and location of the flight, or in case of bad weather, we will find a different date for you. If the weather is fine, we will meet up at the starting location, or we pick you up at a previously agreed-upon location with the equipment and the pilot to drive to the location of take-off. At the take-off location, you can take part in the short preparations and blow-up the balloon. If you are interested, our pilot will explain the whole process and answer any question you might have. The full preparation before the flight takes about half an hour.
The flight itself lasts around 60 minutes and is very dependent on the wind. In case of sudden worsening of weather, we will be forced to land early for your safety. You do not need any special equipment for the balloon flight. All you need is comfortable clothes and shoes, for walking in nature. You don't need to worry about being cold. The hot air balloon is carried by the wind, and because it has the same speed as wind, there isn't even a breeze in the basket. While the temperature decreases with height, the difference is too small to notice (about 2 – 3 °C lower than on the ground), so no warm clothes are needed.
After landing, you will have champagne to celebrate the successful balloon flight, and will be awaited by a traditional ceremony of ennoblement, which will give you a baptism certificate to remember the flight by. After the ceremony, which takes roughly half an hour, you will be taken back to the place where we met.
